To Whom It May Concern,
Re: Applicaton # 2010-0618-0
I am writing to express my disappointment upon learning about the possibility of my local Christian radio station (CFWC-FM Power 93) being sold and turned into a Rock radio station.
Brantford, and this area of Southern Ontario, is one of the most densely populated areas in the province and we deserve and need an FM Christian radio station that we can tune into for positive, uplifting music and programming.
On any given day, should I be looking for Rock music, I can tune my radio to 97.7 from St. Catharines, Y108 from Hamilton, 102.1 from Toronto, or 107.1 from Toronto just to name a few. But when I am looking for Christian music, which I often do, I have Power 93.9, my only choice. We don’t need another rock station to service this area.
The population of Brantford / Brant is 140,000, and of that population approximately 78% has an affiliation with the Christian religion. That means that Power 93.9 is the sole source of Christian programming for over 100,000 people in our area.
I am opposed to the application for the license amendment. I would ask that you please deny the format change and allow us to keep our only Christian radio station.
Sincerely,
Please note this is a sample letter only. We’d suggest that you use this as a guide only, to draft your own letter.
